I offer professional consultation services on cases of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and sex therapy as well as business development, teaching and curriculum design.

consultation

My approach to consultation is consultee-driven, open-ended, collaborative and creative. Some consultants may be experts in particular ways of working (e.g., relational, trauma-informed, group dynamics). My expertise in teaching and learning, informed by a previous career in teaching and learning, curriculum design, and sex therapy are areas of expertise that I offer to consultees in addition to clinical treatment for private practice adults and couples from a psychodynamic or psychoanalytic perspective. Regardless of the concern, I tend to focus on supporting the development of the consultee with a rigorous and flexible approach to the material that centers the development of the consultee.

I offer single or ongoing consultation sessions to licensed mental health professionals about clinical matters, business development matters, or to leaders about their work informed by a psychodynamic perspective.

I invite consultees to consider how I might be most helpful and to work together to find new ways of thinking, to experiment with new behaviors, and to reflect together on the impact of consultation.

Consultation FAQs

  • Yes. Consultations can be one time one-off meetings or can be arranged to be an ongoing relationship or something in between. Many clinicians use consultation to develop or to address particular issues that arise in clinical work. I am particularly helpful with business development concerns, ethical questions, and sexuality. I invite you to reach out if you would like to consult with me.

  • I can provide either but depending on the situation it may be beneficial to meet in person. You are welcome to reach out to see if I can be of help and I am happy to reflect with you on the potential role of the medium on our work.

  • Consultation is collaborative and focused on what it is that you are seeking to develop and on supporting your goals and style of working. You can either prepare a case and bring process notes, or we can discuss your concerns and questions openly. Because I provide consultation on ethics questions, business development issues in addition to clinical case consultation, consultation sessions can be organized a variety of ways from very open and unstructured to coaching and directed.
